More Than A Fashion Parade!
Posted on April 27 2026
When I think about the fashion parade, I don’t just see clothes walking down a runway.
I see something much bigger.
For a slow fashion label like mine, being part of an event like this means everything. It’s not just about showcasing pieces—it’s about connection. It’s about giving people the chance to see, feel, and experience the garments in real life… and most importantly, to meet the face behind the design.
That’s my favourite part.
I love standing there, talking to you—my customers, future customers, and everyone in between. Hearing your stories, seeing how you wear the pieces, and sharing why I created them in the first place. That connection is something fast fashion will never be able to replicate.
One of the biggest conversations I have is about sizing.
Why free size?
Because we’ve become so consumed by numbers on a tag. We let them define how we feel about ourselves. But the truth is, those numbers mean very little—especially here in Australia, where there is no true standardised sizing. You can walk into one store and be one size, then walk into another and be something completely different.
It’s confusing.
It’s frustrating.
And for so many women, it’s soul-crushing.
You start to question yourself.
You feel like you’re the problem.
Like you’re not “good enough” to fit into a number.
And that’s exactly what I don’t want.
Free sizing is my way of removing that label—literally and emotionally. It’s about creating pieces that work with your body, not against it. Pieces that move, adapt, and make you feel incredible, without a number telling you otherwise.
Events like this also give small, slow fashion brands like mine a platform—something that’s often hard to come by. We don’t produce in huge quantities. We don’t follow trends at lightning speed. And we don’t always have massive followings.
But what we do have is heart, intention, and purpose.
And that deserves to be seen.
It’s not just about the brands, though.
It’s about the models too.
Women who may not fit the traditional mould of what the industry has told us a “model” should look like—but honestly, they are everything it should be. Strong, diverse, confident, and completely themselves.
Watching them walk is powerful.
You can feel the shift in the room.
The energy is electric.
This event is more than fashion—it’s body positivity, acceptance, and a little bit of soul-searching all rolled into one.
And for anyone who has ever felt like they don’t quite “belong”…
You walk away realising—you do.
You’ve just found your people.
